XC or TR The TR builds feature more travel (115mm rear, 120mm front) slightly beefier tires (Maxxis Rekon), a full height adjust dropper post, no lockout remote, and larger brake rotors. It's not a trail bike, it's a XC bike for certain courses. Light Carbon Frame The full-suspension Blur is lighter than most pre-race dinners you'll eat - 289g saving over previous generation. Reserve 28 XC wheels This is the lightest Reserve MTB rim (385g or 1367g complete). The rim bed is shallower and wider, meant for the newer generation of higher volume XC tires which are popular with elite racers. Geo to match The Blur's chainstay length is matched to frame size so every rider, no matter their height, gets the same balanced geometry and bike fit. Two water bottles Two water bottle mounts within the front triangle mean there's enough juice (or whatever electrolytes you choose) to keep the engine running. With a full-composite chassis, developed with Giant’s enduro racing pros, this hard-charging 29er has 160mm of Maestro rear suspension, adjustable geometry, and the option to switch to a 27.5-inch rear wheel. Key Performance Factors: Race-bred suspension A Maestro rear suspension system with 160mm of travel, paired with a 170mm fork, was developed and tested under the extreme conditions of Enduro World Series races. The trunnion mount shock has a longer stroke (62.5mm compared to 60mm on the previous generation). And the Advanced Forged Composite upper rocker arm adds stiffness and lowers overall weight. Adjustable enduro geometry Flip chip technology lets you switch between three settings depending on the terrain. And that's exactly what we did for the Ripmo V2S. Active ingredients include: 29" wheels, berm-defying cornering tendencies, and a love for long rides. GEOMETRY The Rip­mo and Rip­mo AF share the same steep, 76-degree seat tube angle and a rangy but not stratos­pher­ic reach, which places rid­ers cen­tral­ly over the ped­als. TIRE CLEARANCE You can run over­built, chunky tires; you can run light, big vol­ume fast tires, but what­ev­er you run, know that you're not lim­it­ed by width. FIVE SIZES In order to place every size rid­er in the same position over the rear wheel, the HD's seat tube angles get steep­er as frame size increases. With four sizes, this would have result­ed in larger jumps in reach, so we added a fifth size. The small­er incre­ments across five sizes means that you can find just the right size. We encourage rid­ers to choose their bike size based on their desired reach and top tube measurements. With 80% of our riders falling between 5’5” and 6’0", we introduced a new "Extra-Medium" size. This much travel isn't going to help shrug off the biggest, fastest rock gardens like a V10 downhill race bike, but it's going to feel like you've got a V10 under the hood of your motor when it comes to freeway freestyling miles. - Traction and big hits For 5010, we wanted to balance support and grip to maximize the bike's descending and big-hitting capability. We started with a significantly less anti-squat (than the previous generation 5010) to provide sensitive, ground-tracking qualities and reduced pedal kick. - Support and playfulness We gave the 5010 a very straight, highly progressive leverage curve to give the rider plenty of predictable support, bottom-out resistance, and playful response. This means the travel is accessible and higher impacts aren't as jarring as you'd expect from a short-travel bike.
