Dear Cal Coast Bicycles Customers:
We hope you have stayed safe and healthy over this past year. Our thoughts are with you and your families. We are excited to be moving towards normal and seeing smiling faces again. For us though, the return to complete normal is an ongoing process. Expect improvements on a daily basis.
Aside from the serious health issues that came with this pandemic, there also came historic demand for bicycles. Our industry has never seen such demand for product and service. Our supply chain (as well as that of other industries) remains severely disrupted. Our stores are under staffed. Just about every bike store has modified their business to cope with this new reality. Even with the opening of California, our business will still be far from normal. Following is our plan to continue to offer the best and most efficient service to all customers given these issues.
We will continue the following hours: Mon-Sat Noon-5pm; CLOSED SUNDAYS
You have likely seen us at the shop before 9am and long after 6pm. Only with this extra, uninterrupted time are we able to stay caught up on all aspects of our business.
We will continue to help many customers out front of our store.
Our store is a mess! We have new tech stations where we would normally have storage. We have storage (and an overflow of repair bikes) where we would normally showcase our product. Due to the record demand for service we are unable to keep up with the assembly demand of new bikes. Most new bikes are assembled only after they are sold. Simply put, our store is not yet completely presentable. One thing that we learned during this pandemic is that we can address big lines more efficiently outside. We have sold more bikes in our 16 year history with the fewest staff members ever. We are hustling for you. Please, trust us to make the best choice on how to serve you. And don't worry, you won't have to try on shoes or helmets in our parking lot any longer. For those who would rather be helped outside, just let us know. We have been and will continue to bust our humps for you. All service check-ins will happen out front.
We will follow state guidelines and require masks indoors for those that are NOT vaccinated (please bring proof of vaccination).
No mask required outside! However, if we invite you in and you are not vaccinated you will need to wear a mask. Of course if you have or display any COVID-19 symptoms you are not allowed on our property.
As stated, these supply issues are wreaking havoc on all bike stores across the world. The majority of popular items are sold out at manufactures and distributors. The products that are in our store now or are arriving soon were most likely ordered as far back as May 2020. We have more bikes on backorder than we sell in a typical two-year period. Product is trickling in. Not all our suppliers have backorder systems so getting product becomes a fight once it arrives.
Our service department is hammered. The turnaround time for service is close to 7 weeks right now from the day you drop it off. We are expediting bikes covered under our Lifetime Free Service Policy so be sure to mention you purchased your bike from us when inquiring about service. New bike assemblies are also backed up. If the bike you want is not assembled, expect a 1-3 week assembly time from the time of deposit.
