The ECR is Surly's answer to those times when you just need to escape to the woods for a while to get away from the humdrum of life. Those familiar with this steel mule know it’s designed around plus tires, previously of the 29” variety. A fully loaded 29+ bike is an excellent way to explore and get away for a while… if you’re of a certain stature that is. For smaller riders, it poses several challenges though. And no one wants new problems when they’re in the woods trying to escape old ones. To solve this, Surly redesigned the smaller sizes of the ECR to work with 27.5+ while the larger sizes are still equipped with 29+. All you medium specimens out there get your pick of the litter as Surly's offering that size in both options. Other updates to the ECR include and are limited to: Gnot-Boost rear spacing and a killer new beige paint job. It retains the abundant accessory mounts that we all know and love like Surly Trip Guide for brakes and derailleurs, fender, rack, and Bill/Ted eyelets, and a Rohloff torque arm slot. The 27.5+ sizes also feature two sets of Three-Pack bosses. You’ve got lots of options to bring all your “necessities” with you and still have room for excess baggage if you’ve got it.
Surly's Long Haul Trucker enjoys a reputation as one of the best riding and most value-packed touring bikes out there. It's been around long enough to be tested in the real world, in all kinds of places, with all kinds of loads on all kinds of roads. Sometimes, however, a combination of load, climate and terrain demands a bit more braking performance than a standard rim-brake LHT can provide. That's where the Disc Trucker comes in. Disc Trucker is a Long Haul Trucker specifically designed for the unique forces discs impose. Surly made sure it can run discs, racks, and fenders with no jury rigging, a somewhat unique feature they've just now decided to call Simulpatibility. Most of the components on the complete bike are the same as the standard LHT; parts chosen for their balance of technical capability, durability, and value. The drivetrain uses the sort of wide gearing you will need for loaded and unloaded travel, cable operated disc brakes for their proven reliability and ease of service, and hubs that are durable and easy to maintain. You'll need to outfit it with the extras you want, like fenders and racks. Surly doesn't include that stuff because everybody's needs are different. From the casual commuter to the person who rides around the world more than once, the Disc Trucker is more than capable. It's a tool designed from the ground up to take you and a bunch of stuff just about anywhere you'd like to go. It is a tool to help you get lost and find yourself.

When your bike touring route takes you over the river and through the woods with a quick jaunt through town for supplies, you can't beat the versatility and smooth riding characteristics of Surly's new Bridge Club. First off, it's a Surly so you know the 'Natch chromoly steel frame and fork are built to handle your entire kit and caboodle, and thanks to the typical overabundance of rack and cage provisions you can mount your gear via traditional racks and panniers, go full bikepacking-style, or mix-up your favorite combo of the two. The Bridge Club rolls on plump 27.5 x 2.4-inch WTB Riddler tires for a blend of low rolling resistance on smooth pavement and confident handling on forest trails. You can also run up to a 2.8-inch wide tire for more flotation, or swap-in a 700c wheel and tire combo if your route includes a lot of on-road riding. A dependable 2x10 drivetrain ensures you'll never run out of gears as you make the push up long climbs, and mechanical disc brakes offer worry-free performance to keep you safe no matter what the weather brings. And, thanks to fully housed cabling and front and rear fender mounts, you can splash through soggy days with a smile. A comfortable Salsa Bend flat bar and WTB Volt saddle complete this relaxed all-terrain tourer.
The Dummy Cargo Kit includes a pair of Dummy Rails, a pair of Dummy Bags, and a Dummy Deck, plus all the hardware you'll need to install everything and get haulin'. Solidly-constructed from high-quality materials and chock-full of little details that ensure their usability, the kit works with any system using the Xtracycle cargo bike design, including of course Surly's own Big Dummy. In fact, this is the stuff they now spec on the Big Dummy complete bike.
If you like to ride useful bikes, racks make a lot of sense. Surly's 24-Pack Rack ups the useable cargo space on your bike, providing more real estate for more stuff: more beer, more food, more random bits from the hardware store, more whatever. It’s manufactured from cromoly tubing and uses stainless steel hardware. And it offers height adjustability, so you can keep your cargo close to the ground and stable. It has plenty of braze-ons, too, so you can customize how you secure your cargo…or just light your bike up like the space station. The 24-Pack Rack attaches to most forks that feature mid-blade and crown eyelets. It gives you a stable, rigid assembly upon which you might place your burden. No one likes a sweaty back and a sore bottom, so take your stuff out of that messenger bag and put it on the front of your bike. The 24-Pack Rack is rated to carry 30lbs (13.6kg) and comes in black or silver.
This expedition-worthy rack is made from 4130 chromoly, so it's tough, light and easily repairable in the field. It's also height-adjustable, so you can get your center of gravity as low as possible for a stable ride. The provided stainless steel hardware enables you to attach your rack to virtually any frame with 26-inch, 700c and 29-inch wheels. And, it hauls up to 80 pounds of gear and is powder-coated to protect it from the elements.
Surly Racks are well-thought-out, durable, expedition-worthy racks that work with most panniers. While their racks aren't limited solely to heavy duty touring, that is what they were designed for. When you're out on the road, the best option is to never ever have anything ever go wrong ever. Right? That's never a guarantee though; so having something that you can repair if it does break can be pretty clutch. Thus, the main bodies of Surly's front and rear racks are made from tubular CroMoly steel with stainless hardware. This means you can probably find someone out there that can torch it back into one piece in the rare instance things go south. The Front Rack is height adjustable and provides either a low or high pannier mounting position, which can be handy depending on terrain. When the ground gets rough, keep your gear high and dry. When the path is smooth and easy, you can load things low and keep everything balanced and stable, with the platform above the wheel providing yet more space for more stuff. It's worth mentioning they've redesigned the Front Rack hardware to be simpler to attach and more compatible with things like disc calipers and fenders. Surly also made attachment plates specifically for their Uni-Crown forks for yet more fork compatibility. This simpler design has fewer moving parts and costs less to manufacture; ergo, costs less for you to purchase. Surly's front rack WILL work with disc brakes on the Troll, Ogre, and Disc Trucker frames. It may take a bit of work to get clearance around the front caliper since the many different calipers out there are many different shapes. The new attachment plates will limit any DIY ingenuity you might need, but if you need to throw a washer or three behind the lower left bolt where the plate attaches to the fork dropout, that's not a big deal. As part of Surly's ongoing effort to make this planet last a little longer, they recently started shipping their racks with a small, reusable Surly Tool Bag that houses the rack struts and hardware. This switch helps eliminate the use of some polybags, thereby minimizing excess waste. Plus, you get a free tool bag out of the deal. Surly Front Rack will haul up to 32kg (70 lb) of well-secured, well-balanced gear over roadways and maintained off-road trails. Front Rack specifications: - Tubing diameter: 10mm - Platform dimensions: 230 x 170mm - Weight: 1382g
Most of you don’t need the cargo capacity to land a helicopter on your rack. Sometimes, all you want to do is grab a sixer from the beer store on the way home, or pick up a nice bouquet of flowers. For whatever the situation dictates, Surly offers the 8-Pack Rack. Made from the same tubular cromoly steel as their front and rear touring racks, the 8-Pack Rack is a solid pedestal upon which you may rest a handlebar bag, grocery bag, minaudiere, satchel…or whatever you use to carry your bowling ball around. The 8-Pack Rack attaches to most forks with mid-blade and crown eyelets. It uses stainless steel hardware and has the characteristic durability, versatility, and repairability all Surly products are known for. The 8-Pack Rack has lots of barrel braze-ons, so you can customize your cargo tie-downs…or just bolt on as many lights as you can possibly find. It’s rated to carry up to 30lbs (13.6 kg) and comes in black or silver.
Surly's Ogre Fork is perfect for replacing 80mm-travel suspension forks on 29-inch wheel bikes or for building a custom 29er. This sweet fork features large-diameter, thin-wall chromoly blades that taper for a smooth and supple ride. And, it's got removable rim-brake posts, disc-brake tabs, fender mounts, standard and low-rider rack mounts and a tough powdercoat finish because it's awesome.
The Straggler fork is very much like the Cross-Check fork — t's a lugged and brazed CroMoly fork with room for 700c tires up to 50mm wide. Both feature fender and rack mount eyelets at the dropouts, mid-blade threaded rack mounts and threaded eyelets on the sides of the crown for accessories. Both deliver a resilient ride and are finished in black powdercoat. The Straggler fork is equipped with a 51mm I.S. disc caliper mount and no accommodation for rim brakes. - Axle-to-crown: 400mm - Offset: 44mm - Steerer: 300mm, 1-1/8" straight (42-58cm), 350mm, 1-1/8" straight (60-62cm) - Tire Clearance: 50mm (w/o fender) Weight: 2.5 lb (1.15kg) uncut
The 1x1 fork is designed for use with Surly's 1x1 frame. It uses 51mm I.S. disc caliper mounts, line guides, and it is corrected for frames designed for 100mm suspension forks. The 1x1 fork is triple butted and can fit real big tires…you can stuff 2.7-inch tires between the blades and have room to spare. Made from 4130 CroMoly tubing, with 1-1/8" threadless steerer and powdercoated black.
If variety is the spice of life, then the Moloko bar oozes umami at every bend. It offers a multitude of hand positions to keep you comfortable and in control over the course of a long day riding over varied terrain. It also has plenty of spots to mount your various accessories. Dangle a handlebar bag from it, strap some lights to it, throw a GPS on it (if that's your thing), and ride all day. It comes in a standard width of 735mm but if 685mm is more your style, don't you worry. Surly added cut marks so you can easily make it so. - Material: CroMoly steel - Clamp diameter: 31.8mm - Width: 735mm; Cut marks for 685mm - Rise: 0 - Sweep Angle: 34 degrees - Weight: 709g - Color: E.D. coated Black
Trust Surly to come up with a reasonable solution to a bizarre problem. The Surly MWOD chainring set moves a bike's chainline away from the spinning tire allowing for the use of super wide tires on extra wide rims. The genius part is that it doesn't increase the Q factor (a.k.a. width of the bottom bracket) and keeps the low gears necessary for pedaling bikes with monster tires. The chainring set bolts directly to Mr. Whirly cranks and is available in two sizes.
$79.99 - $90.00
Called 29+ by those in the know, Surly's Dirt Wizard tire provides float, cushion, and traction like a fat bike tire, but keeps the handling fast and responsive with its 29 x 3.0-inch size. There's also a choice between a 60 or 120 threads-per-inch casing, so you can decide whether you're interested in supple or very supple tires. Intended for rims 50mm wide, its aggressive knobbies deliver excellent traction and control in corners and through loose, mixed terrain.
Surly's Dummy Deck provides a light, durable platform for cargo bikes, built to Xtracycle's Longtail standard — including the Big Dummy, of course. The Dummy Deck is stamped from 4mm-thick aluminum, chosen for its strength, durability, and recyclability, and it bolts directly to Surly Dummy Rails to stiffen and stabilize the whole system (it's also compatible with Xtracycle V-racks by using Xtracycle's SuperHooks). It features cut-outs for routing straps and cordage, a mounting hole for a rear light bracket, accessory-mounting holes, and countersunk holes for SuperHook hardware.
Build your singlespeed bike around Surly's New Rear Hub. This gorgeous hunk of aluminum has the capability you need and reliable sealed bearings, too! It sports threads for freewheels on both sides so you can rock two different gear ratios. Plus, this hub's 135mm width fits most MTB frames and the forged chromoly axle provides a flex-free ride.
Direct replacement item for Surly racks.

The 12mm slotted MDS dropout is the newest chip for Surly's MDS equipped trail frames. You like chips, don't you? The 12mm slotted dropout chip uses a standard derailleur mount for maximum compatibility and is made of cast and machined 6061-T6 aluminum, with a fender eyelet. What's the coolest part about the 12mm slotted MDS chip, you ask? The fact that it also has the capability to run a 12 x 142mm thru-axle in a single speed configuration. This is good news because single speeds are good news. When you get an MDS equipped frame you're getting the option to set it up however you want. You can run a 142 x 12mm thru-axle rear end with a direct mount Shimano hanger, standard 135mm QR or The Mighty Singlespeed. The way this will work is that Surly complete bikes that feature the MDS will ship with whatever chip is compatible with derailleur spec. For instance, the complete Instigator 2.0 ships with the 142 x 12mm thru-axle Shimano chip. If you want to change it to a singlespeed later (and why wouldn't you?), all you have to do is get the SS chip. Frames will ship with all three MDS chips so pick your poison. The 142 x 12mm and 135mm QR chips are made of cast and machined 6061-T6 aluminum and The Mighty Singlespeed chip is 304 stainless steel, because the two words 'aluminum' and 'singlespeed' should never be too close to each other. Bad things can happen…. As you can see, the MDS gives you not just different build options, it lets you use a more varied selection of parts for your frame up builds. The MDS is featured on most of our trail bikes. That's right: Krampus Ops, Karate Monkey Ops, Instigator 2.0 and Ice Cream Truck frames all sport these puppies.
Turn your geared bike into a singlespeed machine with Surly's Singleator. The Singleator mounts to your derailleur hanger and provides a smooth, quiet and adjustable means of tensioning the excess chain slack on any bike. It's made from strong forged steel and features a triple-sealed spring, large-cog capacity, chain guides, fully-adjustable chain line, floating pulley, and a stainless-steel pivot bushing. And, it works with both BMX and standard chains.
If you love the feel and simplicity of a fixed gear, but crave a bit more versatility from your steed, the Surly Dingle Cog has just what you need. Suddenly your fixed gear is a two-speed so you can tackle varied terrain with more ease.
Pair this cog with your Shimano-compatible rear hub, spacers and a lockring (sold separately) and discover the joy and simplicity of a singlespeed without the cost of a new wheel. Machined from heat-treated chromoly and then chrome plated, these seriously tough cogs are strong, shiny and they come in sizes from 13T to 22T so you can pick the perfect gear.
All the hardware for the lower portion of your Surly rear rack. Stainless steel.
